Problems
Farmers Annual income is very low due to unpredictable natural condition and rate for crop.
Our economy is agricultural economy and farmers are patron. But farmers are struggling for their survival due to low and unpredictable income source. Majority of small farmers who having land around 1 acre to 5 acre are in trouble now a days. They are getting worst treatment from the Society, Mediators and their relatives. But still they are continuously fighting with the situation. Unfortunately sometime situation is out of their tolerance and find suicide is better option than living.
Objectives
Hand holding of 10,000 farmer families socioeconomic uplifting.
Opening additional business opportunity in existing land and manpower
- Identifying farmers who having 1care to 5 acre farm.
- Classified them according there income and family members.
- Studying there current farme production.
- Guide them allied farm business.
- Provide them detailed technical guidance.
- Assure them additional fixed income
Research
Minimum financial requirement in village area to sustain a family.
Three years back when we discussed with some farmers families about minimum financial requirement to survive a family, the answer was Rs.6000/- per month was minimum requirement in village area to sustain a family.
Experiment
We offered farmers allied activity and reduce their total dependence on farm produce will help ease their life.
We designed a plan to help 50 families on experimental basis , the survey of 100 families we sorted 60 families for hand holding. We gave 100 chicks of one day old of desi chicken which is strong breed and does not require much medical care.
These chicks after 4/5 months starts laying eggs which are desi eggs and are easily sold @Rs 6to 8 per egg. At end of 5 months the 65 female and 35 male Average eggs produced 16/17 per chick/month almost 1000 plus sold@6-8 Rs generated 6000/ plus per family. We learnt a lot in this trial project.
